Meeting God In Worship

Building on last week, we will explore further how God meets us in worship through the things that we do. By faith, God gives grace through material symbols in the power of the Spirit which is refreshing for now and in a sense helps us to participate in hope for the future. In and of themselves, the symbols have no power, but through faith and the spirit of God uses those things to come close to us. For example, when we participate in the Lord’s Supper we experience the presence of the living Christ and enjoy renewal of a future hope communing with each other ‘in’ (through) the spirit of God as we take the emblems together as the church.
